Scott Leitch

Midfielder, Scott Leitch had served the club diligently in a playing capacity between 2000 to 2006 before injury unfortunately put paid to his playing days. After a season in the Highlands with Ross County where he managed the Staggies to Challenge Cup success but fell to relegation, he returned to Fir Park as assistant manager taking over from Paul Hegarty who was sacked from the position, this led to manager Maurice Malpas resigning. As the club searched for a new boss Leitch was made the caretaker boss but he didn’t manage the club during any games as his tenure was during a short period go the 2006/07 pre season, his only real act of business was helping the clubs management decide on what to do with the pre contract signing of Simon Mensing.

Eventually he would become assistant to new manager Mark McGhee, in their debut season they guided the club to a European spot and 3rd place league finish as the Steelmen played some of the best attacking football seen at Fir Park for many a year. The duo eventually moved onto Aberdeen, taking goalkeeping coach Colin Meldrum with them.

Scott returned to the club in 2013 taking up a different role on this occasion as he became the clubs academy director. His two sons Jack and Robbie served the club.
