Ryan Bowman

Powerful striker, Ryan Bowman joined Motherwell from English side Gateshead on a two year deal for an undisclosed fee, the big Englishman signed on the dotted line not long before the August 2016 transfer window actually closed, the club had their eye on Ryan for a while and had tried unsuccessfully to sign him earlier. Club staff had invited him up on the last day of the 2015/16 season as the side travelled to Celtic Park only to receive a 7-0 thrashing, thankfully Bowman looked at the positives and he certainly felt it was an opportunity he couldn’t knock back.

Ryan had begun his career with his hometown club Carlisle, he has also had spells with Darlington, Hereford United, York City and Torquay United.

He made his ‘Well debut on the 10th September 2016 in a 1-1 draw against Ross County at Dingwall, in his early appearances he looked like he would become a great asset but he would find it hard to displace Louis Moult and Scott McDonald who had a great partnership up top. Ryan would score his first goal for the Steelmen in the forgettable 7-2 defeat against Aberdeen at Pittodrie.
