Tom Burns

Tom BurnsTom Burns was signed by the club in 1970, the young keeper had earned rave reviews when he kept a shut out in the Scottish Schools Final for St Mungo’s Secondary. During his stay at Fir Park he only managed to make a nominal amount of appearances for the club as the likes of Keith MacRae, Billy Ritchie and John Fallon all barred his route to the first team at one point or another. He did however prove to be an able deputy when he kept goal in a Scottish Cup tie against Ayr United when MacRae was missing through injury. Burns was released at the end of the 1973/74 season having made a total of 7 first team appearances in all competitions.
