Jon Connolly

Jon ConnollyJon Connolly joined the club at the beginning of 1999/00 season, he was 3rd choice keeper behind Andy Goram and Stevie Woods. Nearing the end of the season Billy Davies allowed Goram to join Manchester United and with Motherwell’s place in the Premier League safe, Davies opted to play a few young players to give them some valuable experience, Connolly was one of them. His debut came in a 1-0 defeat at Dundee United, he also played in the following fixture which was a 2-0 home defeat by Aberdeen. Eric Black released Jon early in 2002 as there was an over abundance of goalkeeping options at his disposal.
