Conor Grant

Conor GrantA talented, left-footed player with an eye for goal, Conor Grant joined Motherwell on loan from Everton in an exciting transfer deadline day on the 2nd February 2015 which also seen Marvin Johnson, George Long and Nathan Thomas join the club.

The young English midfielder joined Everton’s youth academy at the age of 13 and he progressed through all age groups. Former ‘Well player Roberton Martinez who was now the manager of the Toffees stated the loan spell will provide Grant with the perfect platform to make his first steps in the game as he looked to gain some vital experience.

When Conor joined the club they were pretty much looking to stave off the threat of relegation which was ultimately achieved through beating Rangers 6-1 over the two legs in the Playoff Final, Conor would of course only play in the home leg coming on as a late substitute.

Grant proved to be a versatile player in his short stint with the club playing across each midfield position, he made a dream start scoring an exquisite 25 yard free kick on his professional debut versus Ross County. Conor would make 11 appearances for the Steelmen. Upon his return to Goodison Park he was rewarded with a new one year contract but he was quickly farmed out on loan during the 2015/16 season where he would enjoy a fruitful spell with Doncaster Rovers.
