Jock Robertson first featured for the Motherwell first team in the 1933/34 season. As regular keeper Alan McClory picked up knee ligament damage, this gave the young reserve his chance to shine in the ‘Well top team. Jock Robertson’s debut saw him on a winning side as Motherwell defeated Falkirk 2-1 at Fir Park. His next eleven ‘Well appearances saw the side go undefeated for this period before slipping up against Clyde. He made a total of 29 appearances that season.
