Signed from Rotherham United by Jock Wallace in 1983, Ian Alexander was a robust right back who stayed at Fir Park for just over a season. From Fir Park he moved to Morton and then to Pezoporikos Larnaca. He returned to Britain in 1986 with Bristol Rovers and spent several seasons at the heart of their defence. He did try his hand at management when his playing days came to an end but this was in the lower echelons of English Football with Yate Town.
