Wattie Brand

Forward, Wattie Brand joined Motherwell in 1909. He was on the clubs payroll for two years scoring 13 goals in 27 first team appearances. Watties first goal for the club came on 3rd January 1910 as the ‘well beat Kilmarnock 3-1. Perhaps worth mentioning, on 4th February 1911, two goals from Brand set Motherwell on their way to beat Celtic 2-1, this would be the club’s first triumph over the green and white side of Glasgow. The 1910/11 season proved hugely disappointing for the club as they would finish second bottom in the league, Wattie would swiftly leave the side afterwards, he would later have a brief spell with English side Bristol City where he would only feature in 8 League games before returning to Scotland.
