Son of the famous Hearts player of the same name, Midfielder, Alfie Conn Jnr had played with Rangers, Tottenham Hotspur and Celtic amongst others before joining Motherwell in August 1981. Like his father he was a fantastic player to watch, clever on the ball, strong in possession but sadly in his three years at Fir Park he was hampered by many injuries and was limited to making 36 appearances in all competitions before he decided to retire. Conn won a whole array of honours during his career including Scottish trophies, a European Cup Winners Cup medal and two Scottish international caps.
