David Cowan

David CowanDavid joined Motherwell at the start of the 2002/03 season, he joined the same time as other players Graeme Mathie and Iain Russell. David had spent seven years at Newcastle United before being released. He was on his way to Livingston but for some reason the deal fell through, but Terry Butcher stepped in just before the transfer window closed. He was given a grounding in the under 21 side before making a fleeting sub appearance at Methil against East Fife in the CIS Cup. He was then given his starting debut against Rangers at Ibrox but after a decent showing the young Steelmen side lost 3-0. His career was put in some doubt when he suffered a double ankle fracture against Celtic but thankfully he managed to return to action after a lengthy period on the sidelines.
