James Charteris



James Charteris was part of the Motherwell side of 1886, comprised of the best players from Glencairn and Alpha. That side was also made up of William Sneddon, Tom Gray, Robert Sharp, James Murray, James Wilson, James Irvine, Tom Sharp, William Moodie, William Charteris and James Cassidy.

He would move to London to join Woolwich Arsenal a few years later but he only made one start for in his time there. He proved to be a prolific scorer for Royal Arsenal between 1888 and 1891, sadly James suffered a horrific leg break that would end his career.
