Glasgow born midfielder Kenny Connolly progressed through the youth system at Motherwell. He would make his debut in January 2007 in the 3rd round of the Scottish Cup against Airdrie United coming on as a late substitute. In the SPL he would feature twice against Dundee United once as a sub and he would start the final game of the 2006/07 at Tannadice.
Despite being the next promising youngster to come off the ‘Wells conveyer belt, Connolly wasn’t without his injury problems and suffered a leg break which would set his career back. Kenny would be offered a contract extension to stay with the club but upon returning from injury he just couldn’t quite force his way into the first team. He was farmed out on loan to Ayr United in January 2009 and would join them that summer after he was released from his contract.
