Born in Dunfermline in 1963, Jim Dobbin joined Celtic from Whitburn BC and had made a handful of appearances for the Bhoy’s before joining Motherwell on loan. The midfielder would only make a couple of appearance’s for the Steelmen with his only start coming in a 2-1 victory over Hibernian in the latter part of the 1983/84 season. Jim would later move onto English football where he would carve out a regular start with Doncaster Rovers, Barnsley and Grimsby Town where he enjoyed winning a Football League trophy in 1998 followed by being the Division Two Playoff Winners later in the season. Upon retirement from the game Jim became a familiar face in Masters football where he turned out for Celtic on a number of occasions. He would become a gas engineer and covers Barnsley games for Opta Stats.
