Inside Forward, Tom Douglas joined Motherwell in the late 1920’s joining from Kilwinning. Born in Whitletts, Ayr, Tom struggled to command any real first team opportunities due to the vast abundance of talent at manager John Hunter had at his disposal at the time. He would play in 7 league games over a four year period netting the 4 goals. Tom would later serve a number of English clubs including Blackpool, Burnley and Rochdale before World War 2 brought a halt to proceedings. Sadly while fighting in the Middle East during the War, the 32 year old was sadly killed in action in March 1943.
