Bobby Flavell spent most of his career in the lower English leagues with Burnley, Halifax, Chesterfield and Barnsley. He also had a spell in Sweden with Vastear Haninge before arriving in Scotland to sign for Hibernian in 1981. Bobby arrived at Fir Park no less than twelve months later after arriving in Edinburgh, as part of the deal which took fan favourite Willie Irvine to Easter Road. He made a fantastic impression on his debut when he scored a stunning 35 yard goal on the 9th October 1982 versus St Mirren as the side won 2-0. Despite playing a fair amount of games in his first season helping the side stave off the threat of relegation he would lose his spot in the first team the following campaign before he was allowed to leave, his next port of call was Dundee United but he would only play one first team game before moving on again this time joining Berwick Rangers where he would end his senior playing career. Flavell died aged only 39 in 1995.
