Billy Hare

Like many youngsters before him, Billy Hare was plucked straight from local youth side Fir Park Boys Club who of course were responsible for nurturing many talented footballers who would forge good careers in the game. Plying his trade as a full back, Billy would only ever make it into one starting line up for the club and this came in a league fixture against Aberdeen in April 1979 in a 1-1 draw, the 1978/79 season was certainly a transitional period for Motherwell as they used over 30 different first team players as they desperately tried to stave off the threat of relegation which of course was unsuccessful. Following this, Billy left the club and joined East Lothian, outfit Haddington Athletic who were playing in the Junior ranks, later in his career he would also work as an engineer.
