David Haddow

Goalkeeper, David Haddow was born in Dalserf, Lanarkshire on the 12th June 1869. He joined Motherwell in 1895 from Rangers where he had made over a century of appearances for the first team. Described by the Scottish FA as a an innovative goalkeeper, he was not afraid to come off his line unlike many of his contemporaries. He moved clubs frequently appearing for Albion Rovers twice, Derby County, Burnley and Tottenham Hotspur. While in Govan it was in 1984 where he perhaps enjoyed most of his success as not only did he win a Scottish Cup medal but he also was capped by Scotland for the first time in a match against England which finished 2-2. At Fir Park his stay was brief as he would feature in 8 league games before transferring to Burnley.
