Ronnie Hume

Signed from Partick Thistle by Bobby Ancell in October 1964, 20 year old left winger, Ronnie Hume would only play 5 games for the first team these coming back to back, in April 1964. He was a clever player and possessed great pace but unfortunately he just couldn’t carve out a first team place at Fir Park. He didn’t hang about during the close season, and opted to go to South Africa and join Highland Park in 1965. His brother Bobby was also a footballer having played for Rangers, Middlesbrough, Aberdeen and Alloa Athletic. The brothers would link up together in South African at the same club before retiring.
