Midfielder, William Hamilton was signed in 1966 coming to Fir Park straight from Alva Boys Club, in his time with Motherwell he would only feature in the first team twice and these were brief substitute appearances, firstly his debut came in a 1-2 defeat at the hands of Raith Rovers near the end of the 1969/70 season, his second and final appearance in claret and amber came on the final day of the following season as the side crashed to a 0-4 defeat against Dundee. Having made little impact at Fir Park, he would enjoy success with his next club St. George who were based in Australia where they would win a number of domestic honours.
