Outside-right, Archie Kerr was born in Motherwell in August 1935. His football career began with Camelon Juniors before arriving at Fir Park in 1953. Clever on the ball with the ability to trick and tease opposition players on the wing, he was unable to command a regular starting berth. When he left to do his National Service, Archie was loaned to English side Shrewsbury Town. Upon his return to Lanarkshire he essentially just picked up where he left off in that he was a squad player. His next port of call was to follow Gerry Baker to Paisley to join St Mirren. Kerr would also be on the book at Albion Rovers and Cowdenbeath before calling time on his football career.
