Steven Lawless

Steven LawlessA product of the Motherwell youth system, Steven Lawless struggled to break into the first team at Fir Park and would only make two appearances for the club. Firstly he would make his debut against Clyde in the League Cup in August 2011 getting on the scoresheet in the process as the Steelmen recorded a 4-0 victory at Broadwood. Steven would also make an appearance in the Scottish Cup against Queens Park later in the season, again Motherwell recorded a 4-0 win. He had a few spells farmed out on loan to Annan Athletic and Albion Rovers, with the wee rovers he helped them achieve promotion from the Scottish 3rd Division.

Steven was allowed to leave the club at the end of the season but he was swiftly signed up by Partick Thistle. He had an impressive season for the Jags as he was a star performer scoring no fewer than 14 goals as Partick won promotion to the Scottish Premiership. He did also reach the Scottish Challenge Cup Final with Thistle but the Jags lost out on penalties to Queen of the South.
