Ian Muir joined the club in 1950 coming from Thorniewood United. He was unlucky because he was at the club the same time as the great Willie Redpath who refused to relinquish the position with his consistent form, so when called upon Ian had to deputise in other positions he made three appearances at left back and four at centre half, he left the club in 1953 joining English side Bristol Rovers.
