Born in Greenock on the 4th January 1953, Jimmy Miller was a small midfielder who began his football career in England with Leicester City before heading to join Aberdeen in November 1971. He would make little impression at Pittodrie before being released in April 1974. After a spell with Queen of the South, Motherwell paid the Doonhamers £12,000 to secure his services. At Fir Park he was a consistent enough performer but not spectacular by any means. After playing in 37 league games with the Steelmen he was sold to Morton for £10,000 in 1978, where he won a First Division championship medal.
Over the next few years he played for Clyde, had a second spell with Queen of the South and finally Albion Rovers, injury sadly put paid to his senior career.
