A product of the Motherwell Academy, Stuart McKinstry got his first taste of the Fir Park turf as a youngster as he was the mascot for the club when they faced Greek club Panathinaikos in the Champions League qualifying tie in 2012.
His father John McKinstry was on the books as a Motherwell player in the 1980’s but he failed to make the breakthrough into the first team.
