Motherwell born forward John Quinn had played in the Juniors with New Stevenson and Broxburn before signing for his hometown club.
He would only make 12 league appearances scoring just the solitary goal, this coming in a 1-1 draw against St Mirren on the 17th February 1923.
Despite goals being hard to come by in competitive fixtures, he fits into the rare band of players who scored more than five goals in a single game for the club, he achieved this feat in a friendly fixture.
He was loaned out to Hamilton Aca’s followed by joining Third Lanark on a permanent basis but he only played in a handful of games over both spells.
