
He went on to join Glasgow Rangers where he would win a number of domestic honours, serving the Govan outfit for well over a decade. In 1920, he joined Albion Rovers, after retiring he would take up the role as secretary/manager, before becoming the Dundee United manager in 1931. His league goal scoring record for Morton was 19, for Rangers 188 and 36 for Coatbridge outfit Albion Rovers. Willie was capped nine times by Scotland and eight by the Scottish League. He managed Albion Rovers between 1922 to 1929 before moving onto Dundee United in 1931 where he stayed until 1934.
Willie died on the 1st May 1966, two days short of his 82nd birthday.
