A product of the Motherwell youth system, Ross Stewart would make his first team debut in the penultimate game of the 2012/13 season against Ross County. He came on as a late substitute so that the highly popular keeper Darren Randolph could receive a standing ovation as it was clear he was moving on at the end of the season. Unable to make the breakthrough into the first team on a more regular basis, Ross would eventually join Lanarkshire neighbours Albion Rovers where he would manage to cement the No 1 jersey as his own. One of his teammates at both Albion Rovers and St Mirren was also named Ross Stewart.
