Willie Tennant joined the club as a teenager coming straight from local side Motherwell Welfare. He first appeared on the scene in the mid 1920’s when the likes of Willie McFadyen and Bobby Ferrier were at the club. Sadly though, he soon picked up injuries which curtailed his appearances in his early years at Fir Park. The club had viewed him as the man who would eventually take the reigns from talented forward McFadyen but this didn’t materialise and in 1930 he moved to Norwich City.
