Forward Kaiyne Woolery arrived at Motherwell in the Summer of 2021 after his departure from Tranmere Rovers. Signing a three year deal he would make his debut in a League Cup group stage tie as the Steelmen defeated Queen’s Park 1-0 at Firhill. Woolery would net his first goal days later which would prove to be the winner as the side had to rally back from two goals down to see off Championship side Queen of the South, this particular game was of course notable as it was the first time in exactly 500 days that fans were allowed to attend a game at Fir Park due to the restrictions in place because of the Covid-19 pandemic.
