Tom Wylie joined the club in the Championship winning season 1931/32. He was a centre-forward but was rarely called upon because a man by the name of Willie McFadyen occupied that central berth, thus making outings for Wylie very limited indeed. When called upon he would always give 100%, his debut seen him help the side to a 3-2 win over Clyde, he also scored the decisive goal that day. By the end of the season he had featured for Motherwell on five occasions netting four goals. The following season he’d only make the solitary appearance and this came in a 3-1 defeat by Rangers at Fir Park, Interestingly enough that game saw ‘well’s keeper Alan McClory get sent off for tripping up a Gers player. 1933/34, tom would play in four league matches and one cup fixture, he managed three goals in these five appearances.
