The SFA suggested to Motherwell (Scottish Cup holders) and Hibernian (Scottish League Champions) to play a match at Firhill on behalf of the fund which was being raised in connection in-regards to the Police Shooting which occurred in Glasgow on the 4th September. A trophy will be gifted to the winners under the patronage of the Lord Provost of Glasgow. Both sides had no qualms in playing the challenge match. ‘Well ran out 5-1 winners.
