Facts

Motherwell start the 2022/23 season without a manager as Graham Alexander left the club by mutual consent after the defeat in Europe against Sligo Rovers. Former ‘Well left back Steven Hammell steps into a caretaker manager role and he is assisted by another former ‘Well player in the shape of Brian Kerr. The duo only had one day to prepare for this fixture.

Academy graduate Kian Speirs makes his senior debut for the club.

As well as former manager Stephen Robinson, the St Mirren side have many familiar faces in it with Trevor Carson, Charles Dunne, Declan Gallagher, Mark O’Hara, Richard Tait and Curtis Main all having represented Motherwell in recent times.
