Alec Gibson was a regular scorer for Motherwell throughout the war years. But when football properly returned, in the 1946/47 campaign, he found himself playing on the right wing, but despite goals against Falkirk and Queen’s Park, Alec was soon out of the side, having lost his place to Wilson Humphries.
