John Boyd was signed from Clydebank in 1968 on a free transfer. He would struggle to break into the first team and would only make a solitary appearance for the club which came at Fir Park in March 1968 in a 1-1 draw versus Falkirk, no sooner had he arrived on the scene he found himself back on his travels. A brief spell at Clyde followed before he dropped into Junior football.
