Mark Gower signed on loan from English Premiership side Tottenham Hotspur during the 1998/99 season. Aged 20, his debut came as Motherwell travelled to Ibrox to face Rangers. He scored a headed goal but it wasn’t enough as the ‘Well went down 2-1. He made a further eight appearances for the club but failed to score.
