Samuel Hynds also known as Sam, Sammy or Sandy joined Motherwell in 1935 from Clydebank Juniors. He was a full back who would play 22 league games for the club. He moved to Dunfermline in 1938 under there first ever player/manager Peter Wilson. Like many other footballers at the time, his career was put on hold due to the out break of World War 2.
