Goalkeeper, Jim McIntyre signed for the club from junior outfit Forth Wanderers in 1953. He found places limited due to the presence of Hastie Weir who had a firm grip on the number one jersey. Jim left in 1956 making a twenty appearances in all competitions for the Steelmen. He went down to England intent on playing non-league football after a brief spell in Coatbridge with Albion Rovers.
