Paul McFadden joined the club straight from Duntocher Boys Club in 1982 and entered the clubs youth setup, he made his Motherwell league debut in a rare 2-1 victory over Rangers at Ibrox in October 1983. However, he was unable to build upon that memorable start and he was eventually released in 1986. McFadden was a player who did not realise his potential. The midfielder would then spend the majority of his footballing career in Australia.
