Only made one appearance for the Steelmen. John Anderson came to Fir Park in 1949 from Newarthill Hearts along with team mate Jim Forrest. A forward, he had scored 50 goals for Newarthill Hearts the previous season. Although only playing one game for Motherwell, he scored quite regularly for the ‘Well reserves, 12 goals in all in 1949/50, he was released at the end of the season.
