Not to be confused by the Motherwell legend with the same name. Irish forward John Blair came to Scotland to work in the Clydebank dock yards, his football career had began with Belfast Celtic before he had a brief stay with the Glasgow version, John would only feature in one first team game at Parkhead thus being in a 1-0 over Third Lanark. He would only stay with Motherwell during 1911 but achieved little success has he would only make 5 appearances, Blair however did manage to net a double against Annbank in the Scottish Cup fixture played on 28th January 1911 as Motherwell won 5-0. He later returned to Belfast Celtic.
