Bobby Ancell signed 17 year old Frank Donnachie from Shotts Bon Accord in August 1964 after the young centre forward impressed in a trial match. He played in 9 games for the club but only scored a solitary goal, coming in a 1-3 defeat by Dundee United. He stayed with Motherwell until 1967 and he eventually joined Stenhousemuir before moving onto Junior football with Broxburn United.
