A full Northern Ireland international and record cap holder at Under 21 level for his country, Liam Donnelly endured a difficult start to his Motherwell careers he struggled with niggling injuries, when he was available for selection he showed his versatility by featuring at both full back positions and centre back. He made his competitive debut against Edinburgh City in the League Cup.
Prior to joining the Steelmen in 2018, he had served Dungannon Swifts, Fulham, Crawley Town and Hartlepool United.
