Frank Kelly joined the club at the beginning of the 1977/78 season but it took him until 1979 to register a first team appearance for the club. Firstly his debut came in the league as Motherwell slipped to a 0-2 defeat at the hands of Stirling Albion, this was followed up by an embarrassing 1-4 defeat at the hands of Queens Park. This was basically the full extent of Frank Kelly’s Motherwell career and he would eventually join Kirkintilloch Rob Roy upon his release from Fir Park.
