Arriving at Fir Park in 1978 from Rancel Amateurs, David Meikle was a midfielder who would make little impact at the club. His debut came in a goal-less draw against Partick Thistle in March 1979. He would make eight appearances in all competitions for the Steelmen before departing in 1980, David was released along with many others as manager Ally MacLeod failed to guide the club back to Scotland’s top tier.
