Signed in 1961 from Lesmahagow Juniors, he was to stay at Motherwell for two years. Despite showing great promise as a junior with Lesmahagow he was yet another one game wonder. His one and only appearance came in 1961/62 season against rivals Airdrieonians at Broomfield in which Motherwell lost 2-1. He was given a free transfer in 1963.
