22 year old centre back, Tyler Magloire joined Motherwell on loan from English Championship club Blackburn Rovers in February 2021. Despite not having played much senior football before arriving in Lanarkshire as he only had a handful of appearances to his name at Ewood Park and a few short loan spells with Rochdale and Hartlepool United, Tyler had an exciting trait that Motherwell fans were eager to see. He was reported to have lightning pace hitting a top speed of 10.6 meters per second besting the likes of Jamaican sprinter Usain Bolt and French wonderkid Kylian Mbappé.
Sadly however it’s not something Magloire displayed to often, while the Motherwell support may have dreamt about seeing exciting marauding runs out of defence and last gasp challenges, in essence what they would really see was a young raw defender learning the game.
Tyler made his debut coming on as a late substitute as the side recorded a precious 1-0 victory over Kilmarnock at Rugby Park. He would take his time to find his feet at Fir Park, but in truth the side had battled against relegation during the 2020/21 season and had looked fragile defensively for the best part. Thankfully however the club would achieve their goal and stay up, Magloire made 12 appearances in claret and amber but it would probably be fair to say that he when he departed the club that he had failed to convince the ‘Well faithful that he was the defender of their dreams.
