20 year old wide forward Ross MacIver arrived at Fir Park in the Summer of 2019 after his departure from Ross County. Born in Inverness in February 1999 the youngster progressed through the youth academy at Victoria Park. Before arriving in Lanarkshire he had experienced some first team football having turned out for the Staggies top team once and also enjoyed loan spells with Forfar Athletic and Elgin City.
Ross made his ‘Well debut on Boxing Day 2019 as the Steelmen traveled to the Highlands to face his former employers, he came on as a second half substitute with the side trailing 1-0, as luck would have it he would score a stunning equaliser late in the game, a match Motherwell would win thanks to a 90th minute winner from Declan Gallagher.
The youngster would only make sporadic appearances for the club, despite being on the cusp of the first team during the 2019/20 season he was farmed out on loan twice the following season where he served Greenock Morton and then onto Partick Thistle, upon his departure from Fir Park in the Summer he would actually head straight back to Maryhill to become a permanent signing with the Jag’s.
