Stewart Pollock begun his senior career started in Maryhill with Partick Thistle. Like many others in the same era, national service interrupted his career and when it was over he was released by the Jags. Bobby Ancell took him to Fir Park on trial in December 1955 before being signed fully. At the end of the season however was released, having made little impact in his two appearances, he moved onto Gillingham.
