Brian Ruane signed in 1979 from Lesmahagow Juniors. He was a young striker who played in the first home league game of the 1979/80 season as a substitute at Clydebank and then started seven days later against Arbroath. Brian never made another appearance for the club and he was released at the end of the season. His lasting claim to fame was arguably his engagement to ‘Gregory’s girl’ Dee Hepburn. He made a return to Junior football with East Kilbride Thistle.
