Joining the club in 1906, James Rattray was a Full Back who would star for the Fir Parkers for four seasons. His defensive partner was McLean and in their debut season together the club finished in a tenth place position. James would register 28 appearances that campaign. The 1907/08 Season was more or less the same again as a tenth place league placing was secured and he made 32 appearances. 08/09 saw the club slip further down the table, thus led to the management shuffling the defensive pack and James Rattray soon found himself out of contention. He left in 1910 making 101 appearances without scoring.
